Spirit World

What does the spirit world look like?Rosa Celeste: Dante and Beatrice gaze upon the...

(Note that this article was written in 1999 and is about the spiritual world of that time. Since then many changes have taken place in the spirit world by John Eagles)

Dante and Beatrice gaze upon the highest Heaven, The Empyrean

Practically each religion tells you about how life after death will be. Many of these reports or views are very different and yet, most of them will be true more or less.
An essential characteristic of spirit world is that it is mostly made by angels and man and that to a large degree it is made in the way that man believes that it is made. When people in a certain religion believe in something like purgatory or Valhalla or Heaven or Paradise then such realms are actually created by them in some way or another.
Many religious adherents however believe that only their view on spirit world is right. For instance, Christians believe that they go to their heaven and that Muslims will probably go to the Christian hell. But the truth is that Christians likely go to one of the realms in that Christians believe and that Muslims go to one of the realms in that Muslims believe.
Yet at the same time, most religions have a very limited and often even false view on how spirit world looks like. Most religions know little or nothing about how spirit world actually works. They usually speak of heaven and hell and something in-between. But there are many, many more possibilities in spirit world, also for adherents of one particular religion.
Usually heaven is seen as the place where the founder of the religion is living. For Christians it were heaven when they met Jesus in spirit world. In reality, many of such Christians were sometimes allowed to attend a meeting in which Jesus gave a speech. For the rest of the time these spirits were somewhere stuck with people living on earth, because they had a restoration course to go with their descendants.
Roman Catholic believers think that sinners temporarily go to purgatory in spirit world, to suffer for their sins. Also this view is based on reality. A problem is that spirits may have to be in purgatories for thousands of years before there is chance for them to come out.
Spirits will be stuck to certain places in spirit world as a result of the life that he or she lived. Purgatory therefore must not be seen as one particular place in spirit world, but each person comes in his or her own purgatory. The same is true for realms of heaven or hell. There is not one particular heaven or one particular hell, but there are as many heavens and hells as there are groups of people.
Each person determines his or her own spiritual situation. This is true in life on earth and it is true in life after death. Yet besides that, there are realms in spirit world made by angels, or by certain central figures of religions, and also by many kinds of evil central figures.
I give you some examples of situations in spirit world. These examples are given without names but are descriptions of what really was built in spirit world. The examples are from historical situations in spirit world and do not necessarily still exist today.
A priest who had some thousand followers while he lived on earth built an altar in spirit world. This altar looked like the one that the priest had built on earth. The priest lived in a tribe and when people of that tribe died, the spirits were received by those who had passed away earlier. Those spirits were led to the priest and the altar and were told that they had come to heaven. In that way the priest built his tribe in spirit world. That tribe always worked to control the situation of the tribe on earth. The members of the tribe on earth could not escape the spiritual power of the priest and his followers in spirit world. If a tribe member on earth tried to change the traditions as installed by the priests, the spirits would chastise and punish him or her.
Such kind of situation existed or exists for thousands of tribes all around the earth.
A political and ideological leader built a school for spirits. Spirits were brought to that school to be trained there. Then the trained spirits could become teachers themselves and they again trained many new spirits. The trained spirits were sent to people on earth to give many revelations based on the teaching of the leader. People on earth were also inspired to write books and to buy books with this ideology.
Much of communism was spread all around the earth in this way. Such a school existed until worldwide communism broke down.
One more example. A evil angel built a throne for himself and made other angels and spirits to work for him. The evil angel controlled the ones under him by installing fear in them. The spirits were punished if they did not obey the leader. There was an extensive system of spiritual cells and doors. No one could come to the leader who had not passed many doors and cells that were guarded by servants of the leader. People in the physical world were controlled in the same way. They were put in spiritual prisons and if they tried to do something that the leader didn’t like those people on earth were severely punished. There also was built a system of repression on earth. A leader was chosen who was a real and evil dictator over his people.
Countless of similar examples could be given because spirit world has more diversity than the earth. For nations it is is true that connected to foundations on earth there always were spiritual organizations that controlled what was visible on earth.
When there is an organization on earth, there also is some corresponding and often controlling organization in spirit world. When there is a family on earth, there is a typical family-spiritual situation.
God intended spirit world to be one united Kingdom of Heaven but man made of spirit world a place totally split into millions of bigger and smaller units that each have the character of a restricted space or cell.
Important to understand is that spirit world was originally inhabited by angels only. Angels had the first birthright in spirit world. Man who entered spirit world was dependent from angels. Everything that was built in spirit world was more or less initiated or controlled by angels.
Angels had made all roads in spirit world. Angels taught man how to live in spirit world. Angels had made themselves to the masters of spirit world.
But the angels were not united. There were black evil angels, and occult gray angels, and white angels who still sometimes prayed to God. Yet also the black angels and the gray angels and the white angels were not united among themselves. There have been countless divisions among the angels of all these groups. Many of them tried and actually managed to put themselves as a leading angel in some culture. Sometimes such an angel became known as a certain so-called god in that culture. Such a pagan god could really have been a black angel who kept power for thousands of years.
The situation for white angels was not very different. Also white angels built all kind of religions or cults centered upon themselves. In the religions that were inspired by God, white angels still played a role to lead and guide individuals. Human founders of those religions could not always escape the dominion of angels over them.
What is important for your life of faith to find out about spirit world for yourself? What kind of experiences should you make in relation to spirit world?
1. Become aware of your individual spiritual situation. That means, you should know by what kind of spirits you are influenced.
2. Have some understanding of the spiritual situation of the places where you live and work.
3. Get some experiences with the cosmic spiritual situation as God has begun to build an entirely new spirit world.

Myths about Marriage: Marriage is the recipe for a healthy life

Myths about Marriage: Marriage is the recipe for a healthy life
Marriage benefits:
Marriage is the best recipe for a healthy, happy and fulfilled life, concludes research on emotional health
The research proves, married people are happier, healthier and richer. Dr. Waite has found that "marriage changes people's behavior in ways that make them better off." Married partners monitor each other's health, for example. They also drink less alcohol and use less marijuana and cocaine.
Research by professor of sociology presented a brand new recipe for a healthy life. The recipe is to get married. At the annual Smart Marriages Conference in Washington Dr. Waite said.

"People need to know this fact... Marriage is good for everyone."

As a University of Chicago researcher Dr. Waite says, she has found that marriage brings considerable benefits to both women and men. It lengthens life, substantially boosts physical and emotional health and raises income over that of single or divorced people or those who live together, she says.

The myth that marriage is an oppressive institution
The notion that marriage damages women's emotional well-being is just a wrong myth. Publication from 1972 reported that married men are better off than single men on four measures of psychological distress: depression, neurotic symptoms, phobic tendency and passivity.

These positive effects on women were not acknowledged, back then. Instead, single women, were portrait, to score higher on these traits than married women.

These findings were never replicated and were disputed even then. Yet the myth stayed in our popular culture. "They helped de-romanticize marriage", said Dr. William J. Doherty, a professor of psychology at the University of Minnesota.

"They matched the then-evolving belief that marriage is an oppressive institution for women."

New findings on emotional health
Since the 1970's, researchers have come up with better measures of emotional health, and on these, married women and men generally score very well. Further, in the last two years several large studies that tracked people in and out of relationships over a long period have produced evidence that marriage actually causes psychological well-being in both sexes.

By contrast, Dr. Bernard's material consisted of one-time glimpses of people's lives. While both Dr. Bernard and Dr. Waite based their conclusions on data from many studies, reducing the likelihood that either was reporting a fluke, marriage itself has changed in the intervening years in ways that generally make women happier.

Dr. Waite told the conference that her curiosity was aroused four years ago when she stumbled across "the marriage mortality benefit" -- statistics showing that married men and women live longer.

In a large national sample of adults followed for 18 years beginning at the age of 48, slightly more than 60 percent of divorced and never-married women made it to 65, as opposed to nearly 90 percent of married women. Widowed women, for reasons not entirely clear, fared almost as well as married women. Among men, however, those unmarried for any reason -- whether widowed, divorced or never married -- had only a 60 to 70 percent chance of living to 65, versus 90 percent for married men.

Increase in "bad behaviors" among those who stayed single
From detailed reports on 50,000 men and women followed from their senior year in high school to the age of 32 by University of Michigan researchers, Dr. Waite discerned a steep increase in "bad behaviors" among those who stayed single, but a "precipitous drop" in bad behaviors like the use of alcohol or illegal drugs among those who married.

Drawing heavily on a study of 13,000 adults assessed in 1987 and 1988 and again in 1992 and 1993, Dr. Waite demonstrated the positive impact that marriage has on mental health. The study, conducted by two psychologists at the University of Wisconsin, Nadine F. Marks and James D. Lambert, will be published in November in The Journal of Family Issues.

It is not just that people who remained married reported significantly higher levels of happiness than those who remained single. The data showed that those who separated or divorced over the five-year period became, in Dr. Waite's word, miserable.

Married women happier than single women
Men and especially women who married for the first time during the course of the study experienced a sharp increase in happiness. Remarriage, however, brought only a modest increase in happiness.

Dr. Waite noted that Dr. Bernard similarly found married women happier than single women, but relegated that fact to her book's appendix.

In addition, marriage appeared to reduce the degree of depression. Men and especially women whose marriages ended over the five-year period experienced high levels of depression compared with those who stayed married. Single men as a group were depressed at the outset of the study and became more depressed if they stayed single.

Compelling as he found these data, Dr. Doherty, the University of Minnesota professor, noted that they represent population-based averages. They do not mean that everyone is better off married than single, or that people are bound to be happy and healthy if they marry the wrong person.

Hinges satisfaction with sex in marriage
Emotional health also hinges on satisfaction with sex, and in this realm marriage serves both men and women, but delivers a special bonus to women. First of all, Dr. Waite said, married people have sex twice as often as single people. Unmarried couples who live together also have an active sex lives but, like unmarried people, get less emotional satisfaction from it than married people, the studies found.

For married men, satisfaction hinges on sexual frequency, fidelity and emotional commitment to the relationship. For women, these elements are equally important, but just the fact of being married added an extra kick to their sexual satisfaction. "Men make an investment in pleasing their partner because of their ongoing relationship," Dr. Waite said. "People who are committed to a partner get more than sex out of sex."

Married people are better off financially

Married people also have more money. From her own analysis of a National Institute of Aging survey of 12,000 people 51 to 61 years of age, Dr. Waite found that married people have more than twice as much money, on average, as unmarried people. Married couples not only save more while enjoying some economies of scale, but married men also earn up to 26 percent more than single men.

Similarly, married women earn more than unmarried women, but only if they have no children. When they have children, "they trade some time earning for time with their children," Dr. Waite said. If the women continue to work, she added, they have difficulty getting child care, and experience stress trying to balance two sets of demands.

Less domestic violence among married couples
Married women are not only happier and wealthier than single women, Dr. Waite found, they are also safer. Moderate domestic violence (defined as as hitting, shoving or throwing things at a partner) occurred half as often with married couples and cohabiting couples engaged to marry than it did with cohabiting couples not planning to marry.

The findings suggest that there is more to marriage than just a social bond. There appears to be something specifically protective about the long-term commitment that marriage entails.

All told, marriage seems to be "an unmitigated good" for men, Dr. Waite added. For women, marriage indeed brings increased life satisfaction and happiness, but those benefits are "part of a package" that also includes family demands that are sometimes burdensome.

Perhaps, she suggested, this was what Jessie Bernard really meant.

My Testimony: Second Coming has come

.
My Testimony:

The Second Coming of Christ has come. We are living in the Last Days.

Luzviminda Apigo's personal story

"I prayed to Jesus every day, to inform me when he comes back. I told him that if he comes back I will be with him... He told me that all mankind can live as brothers and sisters, and science and religion will unite. We are now living in the Last Days and the Messiah is already on the earth."

Searching in Different Religious Groups
Years before meeting the Unification Church, I had been going to different religious groups to find out what they are teaching. I had been always looking for something better, since I entered the Middle and High School.

I joined my Baptist friend to their Sunday Service, i went to the church of my Jehovah witness friend, and I also listened to the Mormons, and at the same time I am a member of Mother Mary Immaculate girls which is Catholic group.

My Questions to Jesus
When I went to study at the University, I pass by the Cathedral first before going to my class to pray and then before going home I pass by the Cathedral to say a little prayer again.

My prayer at that time was short consisting of two question and a request. I was asking Jesus Christ why did God allow him to die like that, hanging on the cross, which I think is so painful and sorrowful. The other question is why did he not use his power to avoid being crucified, why did he allow himself to be crucified, when he is a son of God.

My request for Jesus was to inform me when he comes back. I told him that if he comes back I will be with him, and not allow such thing to happen. This was the main content of my prayer every time I visited the Cathedral.

How I met Unification Church
Every Wednesday after my class at University, I usually go to the Cathedral which was just beside our school, to pray. However, on that day, we did not have a teacher, so I went to the nearest park. I sat there with my friend who was also a devoted Catholic waiting for the time for novena.

We were talking, looking at the Burnham lake, when a young man around late 20-s came to us and asking us if we would like to buy his peanut candies and support his missionary works. I quickly asked, "What do you do as missionaries?" He showed me a leaflet and told me that they are showing how all mankind can live a brothers and sisters, and how science and religion can unite together.

The unity of science and religion was one of my greatest concerns at the time. There were lots of discussions regarding this matter in our country. People were wondering why scientist can't believe that God exist.

So when this young man told me about their teaching concerning the unity of all mankind as brothers and sisters under God, and the unity of science and religion, I got his leaflet, but told him that I can't buy what he is selling since i am just a poor student. I didn't forget what he said.

The flood moved me near to the Unification Church
Then there was a big flood that hit my boarding house. I had to change place. Fortunately, I went to a new place. Coincidence or not, it was just near the Unification Church. I searched for that address of the Unification Church and found it nearby.

When I went inside the house, I saw that it was very small and had one small meeting room. A small green board was hanging on the wall. Next to that room was a very small bedroom and beside the small kitchen was a toilet which door was almost falling down.

I didn't mind those things, but just asked the lecturer to tell me what is it that they are teaching. I listened and listened.

God's New Revelations
I did not understand much, but one thing I could realize was that Jesus has suffered and was not supposed to die on the cross. I learned also that we are now living in the Last Days.

As I finished the lectures I realized that the Messiah is already on the earth.

I was shocked. I couldn't talk. I just stared on the board, sat down quietly at the corner and didn't talk for a quiet an hour. I really don't know how long but in my mind I was thinking, "The Messiah has come. Jesus came. He answered my prayers. He answered my questions."

My Heart knew this is the Truth

So when the Divine Principle revealed clearly that the Messiah should have been born by that time. I couldn't say anything. The lecturer showed the history clearly and although I did not understand everything intellectually, I am sure that what the lecturer told me is the TRUTH. I felt it with my heart. I did not have any doubt that what I heard is the truth.

Remembering my prayer at the Cathedral, I asked my parents' permission that I will become a missionary for the Unification Church (The Unification Movement). At first they did not allow me but because I was insistent they couldn't stop me and finally agreed.

Since then I devoted my time to spread the news about the Messiah. I enjoyed it even if it was full of difficulties, trials and stumbling blocks. I thought as long as I am trying to follow the Messiah, things are ok. And truly that was incredible training for my character that I can now fully appreciate. Now I know what it is to ofercome our selfishness and start growing our hearts. I'm anxious to see the day when we establish the Culture of Heart substantially in this world.
